Nathaniel’s Defence

On June 18th, 2026, Nathaniel Goldstein, co-supervised by Laurie Wilcox and Erez Freud, successfully defended his Master's thesis, titled "The Role of Binocular Vision in Naturalistic Bidirectional Grasping." In addition to his two supervisors serving on his committee, CVR members Richard Murry and Rob Allison served as the committee chair and out-of-department member, respectively.

Now with a Master’s of Arts in Psychology and a Diploma in Neuroscience, Nathaniel’s next steps are to transition from vision research to law school.

We wish him the Best of Luck and Congratulations! 🍀🎉

Iroshini's Defence

After tirelessly working for two years this August 18th, 2025, Iroshini Gunasekera successfully defended her thesis on “The Contributions of Monocular and Binocular Depth Cues to Size Discrimination of 3D Objects.” Iroshini finished her defence in just over an hour, almost unheard of, but she was so well-spoken that the committee had no more questions. Her committee consisted of her co-supervisors, Laurie Wilcox and Rob Allison, along with the committee chair, Erez Freud, and Niko Troje.

Iroshini has now obtained her Master of Arts in Psychology - Brain, Behaviour and Cognitive Science and is planning to pursue her PhD in the Wilocx Lab.

Congratulations, Iroshini! Glad you are sticking around! 💜 💛
